Well I am indeed sorry if I offended you - but words have meanings, and when you use words out of context you convey an inaccurate meaning - and I will correct that inaccuracy when I can. We have a number of people here who have never served in combat - so when you use words inaccurately they may not know any better.
My use of those terms were adopted hypothetically for this USAF training scenario.
This was neither hypothetical nor a scenario. This was a real world release of inert training ammunition outside of a firing range - a deadly serious occurence, and therefore even more important that it be described accurately.
If you used the thinking part of your brain instead of the part that is so concerned about the the right terminology then youd understand why I used the terms I did. Training rounds should be respected and used as if they were live rounds, its called preperation and the injection of responsibility.
Ad hominem attack ignored, as it has nothing to do with the subject at hand. You are ignoring the evidence that there was no disrespect of training rounds - this was a case of an inadvertent release, pure and simple. If you have spent any time at all on rifle or pistol ranges, you have seen at least one inadvertent discharge. This does not change the responsibility for the one who fires the round - but if people on a rifle line have NDs, how much more likely is the same occurence to happen when you're simultaneously flying an aircraft, orienting yourself in three dimensions, and doing so in darkness???
The rest of your post is fluff and drivel, and not worth addressing. I come here to debate intelligently and to help the new generation coming up, and arguing with you accomplishes neither. Also, if you would correct my use of caps for emphasis, perhaps you should first correct your own wrong grammar - it is properly 'would have' and not your own erroneous 'would of'. Lastly, please do not address me as 'Staff', as that is neither my rank nor position. Good evening, Sir!
