I thought for 2011 that forum members have a thread dedicated to their BCT/AIT memories. When I went through in 1983, we have a graduation book that we could purchase. Also, officers use this venue to put your OCS/OBC/WOCS/WOBC pics if you want to as well.

Here is my class pic from Fort LeonardWood back in the summer 1983 when I was a combat engineer. I was split-op and would return to Fort LeonardWood back in 1984 to complete my MOS training.

Sir, I agree that the Class A and Class B service uniforms are the way to go for ceremonies. And I still reported in to each new commander in the Army in Class A's - as I was taught was the standard while a Marine.

But I'd point out that Class A, Class B and the new ASU are all service uniforms - dress uniforms are the Dress Green (enslisted only), Dress Blue (and the equivalent Dress ASU), and the Mess uniforms.

I leave in 6 weeks- I'll have pics after that!

I'm really hoping that I get to graduate in my ASUs. Nothing against ACUs, I just think a ceremony that important deserves ASUs!

LOl yeah...attacking the baby platoon with Nerf guns is the only action that women powerpoint rangers get.

That's because these barracks are brand new, first to live in them. They use to have 8 mile which was trailers with bays.

They started issuing them at Jackson October 01. I was the very last company to come in and get the greens :/ Damn I should have went to sick call that day lol.... The sad thing is they has the ASUs and even showed us the boxed full of them, Just weren't allowed to issue them out to us yet :(

Cool, last couple of guys we had come back from training said they had the Class A's issued and this was just before the Xmas Exodus....I feel bad for those that have to pay completely out of pocket for brand new uniforms. I had the Class As issued, then when they got small on (i swear i didnt gain weight, they shrunk LOL), my father in law gave me his and then Recruiting issued me the Blues which as of last week are now ASUs!!!

Yeah, they are pricey...we bought my husband's a few years ago and yeah they cost a pretty penny to buy and to get all the crap sewn on them. Thankfully it only cost him $20 to convert them to ASU's.

It still takes some getting used to see all the Trainees graduating in the ASU's and walking around post.

dang $20 thats it? I paid cents for the stripes but $32 to get them put on (apparently the blues stripes go into the sleeve so it cost more money to take off) and then I just bought a long sleeve and short sleeve shirt for it...still need a tie now that iremember...

Yup...I thought it would be more since they had to switch out the service and combat stripes off the blues (which were huge as you know). We were kind of annoyed because we had a ball last December and we had to pay lots of money to update his blues stripes only to have them converted a few months later, lol. Oh the joy of Army life and all the uniform changes. This should be his last uniform change though before retirement.
