Man - COMBAT is a boring job - where you're 'just driving for hours', 'just walking for hours', and 'just standing guard duty for hours'. If you're expecting nonstop excitement you're going to be severely disappointed...

oh dude don't remind me guarding time...
there is no excitement in combat...(well, sometimes the enemy makes it exciting with the bombs that he puts on the way)

but really- serve for years as the driver? are you serious?

BTW- what is your rank?

Since you asked - I'm an SFC in the Guard. I just don't care to wear my rank here on the forum - we've got a lot of people with a LOT more rank than me here - and with more experience, as well.
