Cool, looks like a Taliban is watching you through big eyes from that high rise. What was (is) your MOS, why are you in PA now? Scranton? isn't that a town in PA? How did you get that picture posted?

The picture is from my recent deployment to Afghanistan. I am a 25U by MOS. I was assigned as SOG (Sgt of the Guard) for our FOB (forward operating base).

The picture was basically to show what the terrain of afghanistan looks like. Kind of dull and boring. Had to put up with looking at this same scene for 9 months.

OK, thanks, 'big eyes' is an US Indian term from when they first saw the Cavalry using binoculars way back in Sherman's days (just in case you didn't know). The Cav soldiers let the Indians look through them and they were flabbergasted. Thus they called them 'big eyes', a neat term. In the US Army it means exactly that still today: Binoculars.

i like the history lesson, i had no idea what you ment by big eyes and now it just seams common sense
