Why do soldiers prefer the PMAG over the standard issue Army magazine?

    1:

2: SOME Soldiers (not all) prefer PMAGs because they are typically perceived to be more reliable than GI STANAG magazines (particularly the magazines with the green follower and previous, the newest version with the tan follower has improved them sigificantly). The PMAG can tolerate some types of abuse (i.e. getting driven over by an MRAP) better than the STANAG magazines can. Most importantly, some Soldiers like looking more Mall Ninjaesque.

    3. Why are you still asking questions about gear, as opposed to questions about things that are important? (I.e. how can I best prepare for basic training, what kind of exercise should I be doing, diet plan, etc.) Please see the above link on Mall Ninjas.

Personally, I like the way they load, less prone to cause jamming due to a bad magazine or spring and I like the little window to see how much rounds you have left. But you do not get issues these magazines and if you do get to use them; it will be in a deployed environment.

Thanks, and the reason I ask so many questions is because I read a lot, and the other day I read an article that said something about the Army banning those types of magazines, and the soldiers in the comment section seemed pretty angry about it and I just wanted to know what is so good about them. As far as basic training I do watch LOTS of basic training preparation videos online.

PS - I play sports right now and I know training for the military and sports are very different, but IDK if a new diet will contradict my athletic stand point. Oh and here is the article I was reading (http://kitup.military.com/2012/05/ar...zed-pmags.html) lol even though you probably don't care - And I know I sometimes ask irrelevant questions but please believe me I'm not some guy who thinks pmags and high powered scopes are more important than training, I just get curious thats all lol...

I am not exactly sure what you mean. Is this a figure of speech or a trick question?
