    Default Army Officer life?

    Hello,

I am halfway through college, and I was thinking about becoming an officer because I always respected the military, but I was just wondering what officer life is like in in specifics to your free time. I think I would love to help lead soldier's because in the end it is about them, but are you allowed to exercise if you have this "free time" at all (I love to exercise)? Are you also allowed to purchase entertainment for yourself, such as a computer while you aren't on duty (I love to play computer games too)? I understand it could be different depending on whether you're assigned to be in the middle of nowhere with anti-missle vehicles, or at an actual base doing logistics.

    Thanks for your help.

What you do in your free time is your business.

There is no such thing as free time, you are a slave the moment you sign your contract...havent you ever heard you are on duty 24/7...as I type this...I gotta go, gotta get back to work...hahahahahahahah OMG it does not stop amazing me how people think we work all day every day and live in a bunker with a whole bunch of dudes....

Like the other members stated, what you do is your business, you can have whatever you want in your housing....in the barracks i had a fridge, computer, TV, xbox, stereo, couch, etc...i mean just like the dorms in college.

I am on a 24 hour SDO shift. Good thing that its a 4 day weekend and nobody comes in tomorrow. At least I was able to complete all my homework since this is the last week of my project management class.

Germany is so short of troops that you have E-7s doing head count at the DFAC lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's like most general Enlisted MOS's; 0800 to 1700, or something like that, would be your work hours. One thing a SSG at my recruiting station told me; Warrant Officers have the best jobs in the military.

LOL LMAO And again I am still LOL. I do PT on my own and at the hours I want. I usually go to the base gym in the afternoon since it is full in the AM. It has been like that since I became a Warrant.

Usually, officers are treated like responsible individuals and in the "Officers Guide" you will find that commanders are encouraged to trust their officers and always know that if an officer is not at the company area for X or Y reason, the cdr is to understand that officer is conducting business that benefits the Army first the unit second and the officer third.
