Yeah, combat jobs in the armed forces are restricted for women. I don't know why but they can't have any jobs such as Infantry, etc. If you look at the website for the armed force when it lists the job it will show if it's active|reserve and male only or not.
Ya and I asked her what is the point? and she just told me a paycheck and to build yourself. I can see that but if I were to go in id like to no i was doing it for everyone and not myself.![]()
Some places actually look and see that if you were in a service they would assume you have leadership skills and such and your chances of a job would increase.
So its really like any other job, you sort of have to work your way up, to see where you get with it?
No, women are not allowed DIRECT combat jobs, however many jobs will put you on the field and possibly harms way.... my aunt was a pow during desert storm, so yes they can be in the shit.
oh and btw, the navy doesn't fight, they just paddle around in boats and call themselves seamen.
wowthe last part was funny, well that definetly wouldnt be the branch id want to be in then
Yeah, the Navy never appealed to me. It was either the Army or the Air Force for me. I chose the Army because I didn't think my chances of flying were too high (I have glasses). So here I am, set on the Army, MOS 19D.

Armysis890, there are several reasons why women can not serve in combat arms ( Infantry, Armor, Artillery). 1.The hygiene situation in the field is problematic even for men. 2. Crews are often on very close quarters in Armored vehicles, Cannons, foxholes. 3. Some Military and Civilian laws provide for special consideration for women. This complicates an organized battle order for the Commander. 4. Most women lack the aggressive attitude and stamina required from a combat arms soldier/Marine (yes, I know there are exceptions). 5. Given a choice between male/female units, an enemy will always pick out the female unit as his primary point of attack.
