"ACT is an Army leadership development tool that provides a single point of entry for career management and development for the enlisted, officer and civilian cohorts...ACT will pull information from training, education, and experiential learning sources and present a common training picture as well as a consolidated course catalog for all cohorts...ACT provides a personalized, consolidated history of all recorded education, training (institutional and unit training) and assignments in a simple-to-use interface. Users will be required to select their first-line leaders, who, in turn, will be able to view critical data, make recommendations, and provide effective mentoring. The Professional Development Model (PDM) is personalized to the Soldier by matching the Soldier’s history to proponent approved career maps. ACT will use the PDM information to make targeted recommendations for future assignments, training, education and self-development."

Soldier's information will be provided on a rolling basis, based on the Soldier and civilian's career path.

Sounds fine in principal.. but you should know McAfee released a report today in a multinational investigation on whole scale hacking of secure systems of governments (US include), high tech companies and defence contractors... its such a large scale theft of secrets, the virtual espionage involved goes after the national defense secrets and company secrets that give said companies a competitive edge through technology.. all roads lead to the Chinese but to be honest, I cant understand how our geeks cant protect such systems against their geeks... I would be very careful about what goes onto networks these days... until our geeks turn into virtual Spartans and defend our networks successfully, its a real threat!!.. That said, the system security concerns aside sounds groovy man!!..

Has anyone figured how to use this tool? I've gotten to the part and understanding how to create the profile, choose my leader, and set goals. Where in the hell or how in the hell do I compare myself to other people in the same rank/mos.

The comparing yourself is what I was most excited about. But it won't accept my MOS until Monday.

dang I cant get into it either...as always if its something that sounds too good, it will never be available to everyone...but all the crappy systems, surveys, programs, etc are forced down to the lowest level even if it does not work....

Somewhere it said when it will be available to specific people. Eventually everyone will be able to access it.

Honestly I doubt this thing is worth the money they've already wasted on it. Here's why, without DA/HRC/Branch & Assignment Manager support you're going to be screwed. Sure (once I ever figure out how to compare myself to other SSG 25B's if it's even possible at this time) I may be able to compare myself to other people in my rank/MOS. But then what? Yes, I can try to groom myself higher than them through self-improvement (Military Education, Civilian Education, Volunteering, etc., etc.) but the assignments/duty positions will hold a higher value when it's neck and neck with your competitors and even more so when you are not matching up. Maybe it's just the Signal Branch that is dicked up, but I just don't see how spending this $ just to know how bad you're fuked will change anything without higher support.
