    Default Personnel vehicle?!

Hey guys i have a quick random question! I have a classic Mustang and i was told by someone that i might not be able to take it with me (where ever i was stationed) because that its old and it didn't have certain features a newer car would have (airbags, smog equipment)? So im trying to figure out if i should sell it off and once i finish OSUT and get stationed buy a different vehicle or Just keep it and take it with me to where ever i get stationed? So any help will be thanked!

All you need to register it on post is license, insurance, and registration. Now your unit will have vehicle inspections before leave and things. Each unit is different but usually the inspection sheet is mostly safety features. You're better off holding onto it.
TANKER - That dusty, crusty, grease-covered, dirty, sweaty, bright-eyed, fuzzie-faced,
    haircut-needing, beer-drinking, underrated, over-worked, underpaid,
oversexed, little shit, who can take a tank and do more battlefield damage in
ten minutes than a Grunt squad can do all day.

If you ain't Armor, you ain't shit.

I've never heard of anyone having problems because of missing safety features that weren't available at that time. And smog? That's a new one too.

Shipping an older vehicle overseas and getting approval to drive it in foreign countries can be a pain, yes - but we are doing far fewer tours like that now, as the size of the forces in Germany have been drastically cut since I was stationed there. I recommend you keep your vehicle until you find out where your first permanent duty station is. As long as it's in the US you'll be fine.

Plus you can always put it in storage if for some reason you can't take it OCONUS.

Plus, a lot of posts aren't even making you register vehicles anymore. Here at Gordon they just did away with DOD stickers - not sure if that's Army wide or not. Now you just drive on post with 100% ID check.
