Default Survival Bracelts, Are They Authorized?

Recently I made one of these "fancy" survival bracelets using standard colors like Black, OD Green, ACU Green, Coyote Brown, Tan; You get the picture. I've seen plenty of people wearing them so I figured why not make one it's not hard takes about an hour or two tops and could be handy. Today an NCO pulls me aside and says they aren't authorized...I "read over" AR 670-1 and couldn't really find anything pertaining to them so I figured next best stop would be the Army Forums! Does anyone have the scoop on if these are authorized or not?

I think you're talking about the paracord bracelets made of 550 cord? Technically they are not authorized. All you are allowed to wear are POW/MIA bracelets according to AR 670-1.
"Soldiers may wear a wristwatch, a wrist identification bracelet, and a total of two rings (a wedding set is
considered one ring) with Army uniforms, unless prohibited by the commander for safety or health reasons. Any
jewelry soldiers wear must be conservative and in good taste. Identification bracelets are limited to medical alert
bracelets and MIA/POW identification bracelets. Soldiers may wear only one item on each wrist."

Nope definitely not allowed just like lexus said. A soldier in my platoon during AIT got pulled aside by a platoon sergeant for the same thing and was told not to wear it again.

Well you already got the regulation quote, you cannot wear it, I admit it, I wore it in recruiting, but now in the "real" Army I do not wear them.
It is difficult to be a good noncommissioned officer. If it had been easy,
they would have given it to the officer corps.- SMA William A. Connelly
