Why are you not living on the island? Did you move back to the states? If he has orders it means yes they will PCS even if he is close to his ETS date. What do you mean where are you supposed to live? Where are you living now?

I moved back to the states when he deployed and all our things are in storage. I was asking where we gonna live because they wont give a house because we dont have much time on left on our contract for hawaii. Once we get back to hawaii in oct we will only have about 2 months on island. I know they will prob put us up in the hotel but seriously for 2 months in a hotel with kids isn't fun and thats a lot of eating out.....

SGT Boyd, I am on my second deployment and have dealt with soldiers in the same predicament as yourself.

Anyway, when we re-deploy, we automatically incur 90 days stabalization; which means that we can not PCS, leave to recruiting or drill schools or even ETS unless we get a waiver.

Now when he returns, he can stay in the barracks and you remain where you are or you return and together you two can stay at Army lodging or a hotel off-post paid by the government. There is a limit though (I believe just 30-days TLA/DLA) to that predicament.

Now he can request to decline his orders based on his ETS date and prefer to exit right there but the military usually PCS you to a location that will be close to your home of record due to the moving costs they have to provide when you exit the service.

I have a sergeant in my section who re-enlisted to Hawaii but got stopped-loss to come with us to Afghanistan. His family moved out of housing in Germany and she is staying in the states right now. He got his orders adjusted so he can still go to Hawaii. He is waiving the 90 day stabilization so he can hurry home to the states and head to Hawaii with his family.

Any more questions, feel free to ask.
