Question Husband is going down range tomorrow

Hi. My husband is at Fort Benning. I got a phone call from him today telling me he was going down range tomorrow. He is going OSUT, infantry. Just wondering if anyone could tell me how many weeks he should be gone. I know he will be writing soon, I am just anxious, he went to Arkansas first for the GED program. We just miss him bunches.

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for that one. It's kind of dependent on his unit, and what they're doing. But best of luck to him, and thank you for showing love and concern for your loved one.

Depends on what down range you are speaking of. It sounds like he is still in training.

Nothing but love. First time in 13 years we have been apart. Our kids have never been away from him like this. We have nothing but support and love for him.

He is in basic. I have heard anywhere between 13 weeks to 17 for OSUT. Not sure. I should be getting a letter withing the next few weeks

It should be 14 weeks long. Sometimes holidays can play a factor in OSUT but there are no major holidays during this time frame.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Here is a link to Ft. Benning training, all you have to do is accept the security certificate by clicking "Continue to Website" and then click on OSUT training towards the bottom of the page.
