Thread: Quick question about 160th SOAR Training

Default Quick question about 160th SOAR Training

I'm waiting on results whether or not I got accepted into 160th. Hoping I get in and planning ahead, what boots are authorized for wear during Green Platoon? I figure Basic Issued boots is the clutch but what kind of resole options should I look at. Any help is cool thanks.

I really couldn't say for sure. It might be wise to email the 1SG of the unit where you'll be taking your training. Depending on what part of the 160th you'll be training with I'd bet that each will have their own standards. You can never go wrong with issue items until you find out differently.

Good luck & let us know what happens with you.

You're an NCO. By now you should be used to hurry up & wait, lol.

Hooah hooah. still, it's tough to be stuck at this duty station for this long, only 2 years, but stuck in many ways. I'm just trying to get moving along with my career get different experience and all that good stuff. it is what it is though right.

Yep. There were a few times when I thought I was stuck. All of a sudden an opportunity opened & I made the most of it. A promotion usually went along with the move. I only regret going into Commo during Desert Storm. I had an opportunity to be a 1SG of a deployed Commo Company & took it. I wound up doing basically the same thing I did in G-3 & rode in the G-3 COL's track full of commo equipment. Good job but had I kept in an Infantry job, the MOS I held in G-3, I would have qualified for the CIB. I got the diamond but went back as a MSG in G-3 as acting SGM.

Thats a lot of good experience there though. But, hey as long I make the most of my time here and train up some good soldiers to replace me I can leave here and be confident I left it better then when I got it.

BTW, off topic, I need a good solid sound bite of the NBC Alarm that we, as military, use. Is there anyone with a link to that or source or something. Help would be great.
