Well lets put it this way..

2 of thease have the potential to destroy or disable 8 M1 Abrams within 10 minutes given the optimal circumstances.

frakly i tought you folks would be more interested.. but then again.. priorities for the win.

Okay - it's an updated version of the Bradley, on wheels. And I'm sorry, but these will never go up against Abrams MBTs - which is a good thing. The only way these would take out MBTs is if the tanks sat still and waited to get shot - which they don't. But all in all, it's a pretty cool looking vehicle. Your article says that Finland just sold 113 of these to Sweden - but it doesn't say how that's broken down, as this vehicle comes in APC, IFV, C2, ambulance, reconnaissance, mortar carrier, FCV, ATGM and MGS variants.

I see that the Finnish Army has ordered 24 XA-361 mortar carriers and 62 XA-360 variants with Kongsberg CROWS-style turrets, that can mount either a Heavy Machine Gun or a Grenade Machine Gun. Do you know if there is any plan to field the Heavy Gun variant to the Finnish Forces?

The closest US equivalent would be the MRAP vehicles - though we left the big guns on our Main Battle Tanks. I see the specs on the XA-360s state it can survive a blast of up to 10 kg of TNT. I hope that's a misprint - as our MRAPs have survived blasts of over 100 kg of explosives - and the crew have survived larger blasts than that, albeit in a non-drivable vehicle.

The AMV has nothing to do with Bradley in terms of desing. And yes they are effective against the basic desing of M1 because of the top attack.
the survival argument about the 10 kg tnt is more like guarenteed.
Now the actual potential. this is something which comes with Strix.. the Swedish homing mortar.
you might see how this could influence the battlefield.

Giving the fact that our AMOS and NEMO platforms are specificly shoot and scoot weapons, yes.. the targets would probably be stationary.

FDF has no known plans to take the heavy gun variant in the arsenal at this point. but it would be extremely fast to implement if the need would arise.

(at this point the aim is to upgrade our existing 2A4s)

There were talks about releasing this technology to the US especially regarding the AMOS system.
I am personally against giving this tech to the US because I feel that your army does not live up to the standards to use it. there are way too many miss fires and snaps along the way.
one of thease can kill off a batallion in a mere minutes.. In a conflict like Iraq it would just complicate things further.
Besides you already have some advanced alternatives.. like dragon fire

No. the closest thing you have is the austrian van you call the Stryker... from the same corp which provided the Canadian ones... MOWAG.
Your MRAP is a cheap & quick solution.
MRAP has its uses... but DO NOT COMPARE it to the AMV please.

they are in very different weigth class.

to me this just is a copy of the stryker. and this thing could not stand against the m1a1 abrams tank. as doc said only if the abrams sat there and waited to be shot and and i doubt it would even destroy the abrams in one hit but idk i cant argue as i dont no that much on the subject of Patria AMV

The MRAPs are definitely not "cheap", and there are many different versions - some of them very close to the same style and weight class of this vehicle.

It's not an MBT, and the designers did not mean for it to compete with an MBT.
