Default New here looking to make friends.

    Hello,

I'm not to familiar with this forum and apologize if this is against the rules.

Well, let me introduce myself. My name is Jeff and I am shipping 10272010 to Ft. Knox, KY for Armor. I'm hoping to make some new friends on here to hopefully keep in contact during our service and be able to share some of our different experiences over the period of our service in the Army. I am very proud to have enlisted in the US Army and lost 100 pounds to achieve this goal. My Facebook URL is www.facebook.com/jth1985 if anybody would like to add me and send me a message on there.

Welcome, Jeff -and congratulations on your weight loss! Please consider going back and removing your last name from your post, though - you will need to practice personal security (PERSEC) as a Soldier. Welcome to the forum and to the Army family!

Welcome to the site & to the Army, Jeff.

Amazing job of losing weight. It's no question in my mind that you'll be a good Soldier.

Like Doc said a big no-no about posting your full name, especially now that you're about to be a part of the military. Muy, muy dangerous for your family. Friendlies aren't the only people who look at this forum. Fortunately your name is fairly common & you didn't give your location otherwise I'd have you pegged within 50 feet.

This post probably merits a thread of its own in order for it to be noticed.

With that charge against you I would be surprised if you were allowed to enlist. See a Recruiter to make sure, though. Stranger things have happened. I really can't give you any advice as to what might be possible if the charge is dropped. What I can tell you is that any legal matters must be cleared up - cout appearances, fines, jail time, probation - before you would even be considered for the Army.

Welcome - but know you can NOT afford to be convicted of misdemeanor Domestic Violence - with such a conviction you can never possess firearms or ammunition - and are thereby inelibigle to enlist. Good luck!

thats exactly what i was going to say but you have to be careful b/c NOT all domestic violence cases are the same...if he fought his brother, pushed his sister, slapped his cousin, etc...he can still join once everything is completed and a waiver is approved...if he beat up his wife and is convicted, he is done.
