Cool Army Special Forces Vision requirments

Hi, i wish to join the Army and then the Army special forces (green berets) however I have 1 less than perfect eye. My left eye is better than perfect 20/10 while my right eye is about 20/50 without glasses and becomes 20/20 pritty much with glasses, would i be able to get into the special forces with this and if you now vision requirements of other special forces in the Armed Forces i,e navy seals, rangers, marine force recon, would be much appreciated for any information.

    Thanks

I believe the general requirement for the Army is that your vision must be correctable to 20/20. Not 100% sure though.

I would have to look at the regulation for qualifications.

My vision blows (-3.5), and I was offered special forces.

I think the actual req was 20/400 correctable to 20/20.

This is a call your recruiter to make sure kind of deal though. You might consider Lasik if you're serious about special forces - I wouldn't want to lug glasses around on those kind of missions.

20/400 to 20/20 is correct. LASIK may be a little bit too...major, though. I do believe they make Military-used goggles that duel-operate as protective goggles and eyesight enhancers, so you might want to look into that. But if you want to do special forces, LASIK would definitely be an option.
