    Default Prior service questions

Hello everyone, my name is Brian. I have some questions about joining the Army and I was hoping I could get some answer on this forum, but let me tell you a little bit about myself first. I was a Marine (reserves) for six years, deployed once to Africa and got out as a Corporal. I got out of the Corps because I couldn't get promoted anymore in my job (at least not within a reasonable time frame) I joined the Air Guard on a 1 year enlistment just to help finish paying for college, I will graduate shortly before my one year contract is up. I was a personnel clerk while in the Marines and now have a similar job in the Air Guard. I will graduate with a degree in Emergency Management and I am curious as to what types of jobs the Army has in this area of expertise. I'm looking for active duty work (I want the 20 year retirement). If possible and I'm not sure if it is, I would prefer to go enlisted and work my way up to Warrant Officer (that was my plan in the Corps) but if that isn't possible I would choose to go Commissioned. I would appreciate any and all help you could afford me. Thank you.

If you are younger than 33 you can apply for a direct warrant officer slot as a helicopter pilot.

Talk to your recreuiter about it.

He will tell you that you can do it as enlisted and then warrant. Don't listen to that. they will say this because it is easier to get you in this way.

If you do not qualify for pilot for medical reasons I would suggest to you get a direct commission as a second leutinent you will have to go to OCS first and it sucks but being already a marine you should have no proble.

    Is more mental than physical..

    Good luck bud
