Something is just not jiving here. A DUI and underage possession of alcohol is not that beg a deal.

The DUI is a required waiverable condition, the underage possession is a minor non traffic offense.

The DUI is waiverable by the Recruiting Batallion Commander, the other doesnt/ wouldnt require a waiver if it was the only charge you had. However since you had the DUI you require a waiver to enlist.

Also remember waiver acceptance comes and goes with the Army Recruiting Command. They may not be accepting waivers at this time.

At what age was your DUI and Possession of alcohole?
Where did the take place, school ect?

I assure you that if you have a 90 AFQT and HS Diploma if your recruiter could enlist you based on what you tell us, you would be in.

it happened when i was 20, im on my 3rd recruiter. my 1st one was great but his time ran out and the other 2 havent been helpful at all. i graduated high school w/ 9 college credits but they werent transferable to the college i went to where i earned 23, so i cant get the credit promotion. he said they are taking waivers but there is only one person for the whole battalion that stretches a good part of the state of florida, also he said he has 6 other people that have been waiting a while too.

The system is probably just backlogged. You could always ask the recruiters 1SG, he may just be holding you over for a bad month (it's been done before and is against Army policy). Maybe if you ask him for his First Sergeants Tel # he will get off his arse and get you enlisted.

Remeber it's your life, career and decision and you need to take care of yourself. Since your old recruiter PCS'd the new recruiters may be to new to understand the system. So you need to help yourself.

If he wont give you his 1SG's tel # shoot me your city and I will get it for you.

You can get new ones issued, the recruiter can help you with that, they have friends in all the right places.

Well the army tends to lose things all the time. Now iam not sure what the problem is cause i got in with a felony so i dont see why your charges would be a problem.

    Default Hello

I am seeking assistance from anyone that could help me enlist in the active army again. I have had several unsucessful attempts at joining other branches to include the Air National Guard, Naval Reserve, Air Force Reserves, and Army National Guard. Not all services actually worked with me to the point of sending me to MEPS with the exception of the Naval Reserves and Active Army. Here is my case and please bear with me as my case is typically known as a CF and it has been a long process. I was discharged honorably from the military on 8 Feb 2005 due to back problems which stemmed from an injury incurred during physical training. I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and was discharged with a severance. This occurred over 4 years ago and since then; I have not had any back pain whatsoever. I was even cleared for military duty by a civilian doctor.
My situation is that since my discharge, I have been trying to re-enter the military be it thru active duty, reserves, or the National Guard. My first attempt was thru the Naval Reserves. This happened two years ago at the recruiting office in San Antonio. I was sent to a consultant who did not even look at me but simply read the medical records obtained by the Army. With these records, I myself would not let me back in and we are speaking about the Navy. I was denied entry in the Naval Reserves because of my prior medical condition. The recruiter stated that if I could obtain a second opinion by a civilian doctor clearing me for military duty, they would let me enlist. Needless to say, I did not have health insurance at the time and VA physicals are not given just because. The entry denial went into my medical records where it stayed until almost two years later, I tried to enlist back into the active Army.
The Navy physical was still good so the army combined the 40 year and over physical with the ?duck walk ?physical and it was sent to MEPS. The Chief Medical Officer at MEPS wrote that he recommended a waiver for me to gain entrance back into the Army. The finished medical packet was sent to the final approving authority which read the overall medical packet to include the Navy?s denial and therefore denied me entrance in the active Army. I explained to the recruiter what had happened and he asked his recruiting commander to re-submit my packet along with the above explanation. After it was all said and done, my two year limit on a military physical expired. The recruiter asked me if I want it start the MEPS process again to which I stated that there was no need.
This is where I find myself today. Actually, last week I spoke to a National Guard recruiter who is currently trying to make sense of this whole process. I feel that the end result will be another denial. I was even told to wait until the fiscal year begins again to re-apply. My job as a Career Advisor is to advise young men and women who have graduated from Gary Job Corp into a career whether it is the military, college, or full and part time employment. Being prior service, I always ask them if they are interested in the military because of the great things it has done for me and the experience I have gained from serving is second to none. Being a former soldier, the Active Army is the first branch I gear them towards.I want to serve again whether in the reserves, guard, or active duty. Money is not the issue because I happen to have a great job. I don?t need the college money because I already have a degree. I simply want to give back to a country that has given me so much. I was born in Mexico, but the United States is all I know. I deeply believe in service to others and all I am asking for is an opportunity to do so again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will do some digging and speak with my friend who is a Station Commander. I also have friends within USAREC HQ's and will ask their opinion.

    PM me:

    1) your severence amount
    2)disability rating
    3) Years of AFS (enlistment date including delayed entry and seperation date)
    4) Age

All of them above are very important

Keep in mind civilian Dr.'s hold no water with the DOD Medical Doctrine.

I will research it when you send me the info and I can find a little time.
