    Default Past Drug Use

I am a 24 year old college grad looking to possibly join the Army and I had a few questions regarding past drug use. In my freshman and sophomore year of college, I used Marijuana several times a week and experimented with LSD, Mushrooms, Cocaine and Ecstasy. That period of my life has been done and over with for 3 years now, but I am worried it may jeopardize my options in the future. I have never been arrested or caught.

Now, if I intend to enlist, will that be an issue? I have read the disqualifications for it here:
Military Medical Standards for Enlistment & Appointment -- Substance misuse

And I have also read that a lot of people just recommend omitting that information from MEPS as I have never been arrested, but Id really prefer not to do that. Will this be a dis qualifier for specific MOSs or enlistment in general?

In addition, if I did have to lie to MEPS, and I told the truth for a security clearance, would that come back to me?

You'll have to use your own judgement on that one. I would never recommend lying to anyone. Since there's no record of it then it ever happened.

I have a similar question--I have read that the army is not issuing waivers for OCS. My question is whether this is absolutely true. My next question is whether I even need a waiver for an underage drinking summons in which I paid a fine 6 years ago.

You probably won't need a waiver to get in the Army but OCS might be different. Contact a Recruiter. He's your best source & has all the latest policies.
