Default Trying to join but having problems with MEPS

I am trying to join Active Duty Army but am receiving some problems from MEPS. During my senior year of High School I tried to join the military but MEPS said I have back problems which I don't. So I went to my recruiter and asked what I could do and he said to get a doctors second opinion. So I did and the doctor said I am perfectly fine, however I am still not able to join because of MEPS... Which really sucks because MEPS is the one that told my recruiter that I need to get x-rays in the first place. I don't have insurance and just payed over $500 for the x-rays...what can I do?

If MEPS says you cant join, thats it, you cant join, did you already send the documents fromyour doctor to MEPS? if so and they still said no, then there is little you can do as long as the rules and regulations were followed.

yes we have sent a radiologist report but from what my recruiter is telling me is that nothing can be done unless they file a waiver request form... which they have not. I really want to join the military, and I think that I should not be punished for the mistake that they made when I first went to MEPS.

Do you think seeing a different recruiter would help? Any suggestions would help greatly

You can feel fine but if a professional says something is wrong that medically disqualifies you then that is it. What was the specifics of the back problems?

i dont think they would say you have back problems just for no reason.. you must not have been able to do something that is required or struggled with it.. i know they do a lot of range of motion tests and stuff like that

here are the full details on the situation....

    1. Meps Disqualified me for 56 degree lordosis (the cut off is 55 degrees)
    2. Didn't know what to do so I went to Chiropractor to see if he could make my back better.
    3. I got an x-ray there and found out that my back is perfectly fine, and that there should be no reason for the disqualification.
    4. told my recruiter and he sent the Chiropractors second opinion.
    5. MEPS said that they don't take film x-rays and that the chiropractor's opinion doesn't matter because he isn't an M.D.
    6. I showed an M.D. the chiropractors report and asked for there signatures and write ups of there thoughts.
    7. MEPS said I needed to get different X-rays because the x-rays were from the chiropractor... so I went to the hospital and got X-Rays
    8. MEPS still declines me, and my recruiter and I are confused why.
    9. Afterwards we take all of my paperwork and the copy of the digital X-Ray from the Hospital to a different MEPS.
    10. Still declined.... the recruiting station command said my only other option is to file a complaint, but I am leaving that as a last possible action

Yea if MEPS keeps refuses to allow you to join there's not a while lot you can do, if your recruiter and his CO think filing a complaint is your last option then I'd say do what they suggest.

Just make sure you complain against MEPS and not the Army, LOL.
