Recruits belonging to any MOS can be Airbourne. It all depends on your command and if they require it.

I would add a couple of points -

    - Soldiers of any MOS can go to Airborne Training. It is normally used as a reenlistment incentive to get people to commit to that all important first re-up. 19K, without an option 4 (guaranteed Airborne Training) you can only hope that you get offered the school. As a scout you will be eligible to compete for Ranger School slots, though - and it is my understanding that RS now has ABN as a prerequisite.

    - When you report to your first unit, you will find out if there are jump slots in it. Then you can put in a volunteer statement and request a jump slot. These are VERY competitive, so you will want to ensure you max or come close to maxing your PT score.

Do the best you can, and I hope you get selected!

Well, this may be obvious - but there are no airborne tankers. There used to be, (Sheridans) but those light tanks were phased out about 18 years ago, IIRC.

    Oh I wouldn't say that.

I do not believe so Doc. The impression I received from my recruiter was that if you go through RS before Jump School you just hump your way to where the jump qualified guys are landing.
