so, your picking a tatoo, over a life changing career choice?

Yes the army will change you, and it will most likely be for the better.

Well, ask. Ask a recruiter it you can do some physical standard tests to see if your up to it. Then go spend your money on getting that tatoo lasered off.

The Army will only change you if you are trying to change. If you come in looking to be force fed discipline you will be disappointed. If you come in looking to start over and make the change happen you will excel. There are dirtbags in the military just like in civilian life that have slipped through the cracks. The difference is that they will stay in the lower ranks while soldiers who show the want and drive to do the right thing and excel will fly by the dirtbags on their way up the ranks. Change is on you, the Army just provides the opportunity.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
    John Stuart Mill
    English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)
