The aims test is meant to determine your aptitude (ability) for certain skills. They say that this aptitude never changes as a person gets older and is set in early age and perhaps inherited. I am not a teacher expert but I would suspect that training for it, or trying to answer questions in a certain way (as you did) is of no help to get a specific MOS. All I can say is for you to take the test as honestly as you can and see what the results are. As an Example: It makes little sense to try to become a mechanic if one has very little mechanical aptitude.

MT- There's a little more to it than just job reasons. The Army wants to ensure that everyone that enlists with a GED is the actual person that took the ASVAB. The AIMS test can be helpful to find "Ringers". If you take someone that has a GED and passed the ASVAB and they take the AIMS test and cant pass it a "Red Flag" goes up and questions start to get asked.

Certain Army MOS's require everyone to take the AIMS as well as ALL GED enlistees.

dibblejr, thanks for the info. I suspected there was more to it. I don't remember what my 'AIMS' test was like years ago. But do remember taking something like it. By the way, how did you get your avatar posted? I have a URL picture but every time I try to post it I get the message 'upload failed due to failure writing temp. file'. But it posted in another forum and is 100x100 pixels. Don't know how to reach the administrator.

I uploaded it from my computer it also has to be no larger than 100x100 pixels. That may be the cause of your error. There are free picture resize tools on the net.
