    Talking Update

For any that have been following my journey or not just wanted to give an update. Went to MEPS for he first time on 27012012 and I was 165 and 2% over my body fat. So they told me to get down to 155 in a month and come back. Well I did it! Went today for my inspect and signed my contract as a 68w with airborne in my contract and got sworn in this morning. Beyond excited that my dream is coming true and that my hard work has paid off. Thank you all for your advice and help and I Will continue to stay active in the forums.

Congrats Griffie! You got the contract I wanted, minus the Airborne. When/where do you ship to BCT?

    [EDIT]

Nm, I saw you post it on the ship date thread

Congrats!!! From looking at the promotions to SGT/SSG...68W is one of the "nicer" 68 series MOS to be in...most were maxed at798 points

That's awesome! Congrats. My first trip to MEPS was 20111004. Original ship date was in Feb of 2012. Had to get med docs and stuff for a surgery years ago and such. That was a long wait. Sucked, but i'm in. Which is all I wanted. Again, congrats.

Congrats, Griffie! Just make sure you work on your run regularly before you ship - that will make things a LOT easier at Basic. Let me know if you have any specific medic questions.

Oh my list would be endless as far as questions go. Haha. I am the type of person who does a LOT of research and likes to know as much as possible about something before I begin. One thing that I will ask is about the additional skill identifier. How does that work? I assume it is something you can earn down the line...

I am extremely excited because I got the exact job/contract I wanted.

ASI's are just letters that go after your MOS skill level that you get for certain schools.. ie Airborne, AASLT, Ranger, etc.
