    Chief -

Correct me if I'm wrong but is failure to pass the APFT grounds for discharge these days?

I had a Soldier who failed the APFT once & he was sent to the Special Training Company until he could pass it. He said he never wanted to do that again, lol. He even received a promotion shortly after that. He was a good Soldier & physically fit but for some reason he couldn't achieve a high enough score. Probably hung over.

Top, whilst the Chief has the latest being active, last I heard was if you fail after two attempts, you can get out'd as a "lazy Larry" and chaptered out of the Army..

As I thought it over after posting I'm sure you're right, Exo.

Found out that because I am going in as a "DOS" soldier, I will have to take the full PT test. Because my RE-3 waiver only has to go to battalion level, my recruiter is fairly confidant that it will be processed fast. I told him I wanted to be a Rigger, and he said that MOS is in a shortage, and should not be hard to get. All in all I have been getting good news. Passed my medical at MEPS, so now its only waiting for my waiver.

That's good news, Wareagle07. I always treated riggers with the utmost respect. All Paratroopers are convinced that Riggers have "special" chutes for those that don't, lol.

That's good news! Continue to get yourself in shape but don't overdo it so you don't cause any injuries to yourself.
