    Default Almost time for Basic

After a year and a half, it's under 2 months until I ship off.
    E4, 35M, Fort Sill.

All advice is welcome, as are any questions from people looking to go through the same process that I'm about to finish.

Continue getting in shape. Don't neglect your PT. Plan all of your exercises in such a matter that you won't get injured. If you use tobacco products quit right now. You don't want to go through withdrawal in basic. Stay far away from any drug users especially pot smokers. Even 2nd hand smoke can register in a drug test. If you're a drinker drink in moderation. Even casual drinkers can develop a habit that will give them a craving. Don't lord it over all the E1s, E2s & E3s. You'll all have the rank of Recruit except some will make a little more money each month. Because of your pay grade the DS might put you in charge of small working parties at times. Don't be afraid to volunteer for details. After a while you won't be picked but your DS will recognize you as a go-getter not afraid of the dirty work. That includes any opportunity that you might be offered for Airborne School.

Good luck & enjoy your upcoming adventure. Try to be the best Soldier that ever walked the earth. Of course you have the likes of Chief Sharkey & myself to top, lol.

Thanks for the advice and the well-wishing. Just two weeks from shipping; starting to get really excited (as well as a little nervous).
