NO!!! - I'm sorry, but Memorial Day is meant to commemorate our war dead ONLY - we have other holidays to remember the rest of our war veterans...

Doc is absolutely correct. Veterans Day & Armed Forces Day are there for honoring living Vets & those still serving. I spent the day remembering absent friends. Forunately there aren't a whole lot of them but too many from my H.S. graduating class plus a few I served with. Every one of them a hero.

Roger that chaps!!.. Voice of experience for sure... its important to remember those whom were gone.... but not forgotten... A few years back, I was on vacation in Washington DC and took time to visit the grave of the unknown soldier, when it hit me that so many have gone to fight for freedoms cause and never heard of again... no special place in Arlington for them, or any other hollowed ground for fallen heros.... that memorial was their special resting place where average Joes like me can honour them..... and their gift to us, the free-world we live in today... they were and still are the difference between surviving life and living life!!.. it befalls on us to make sure what they stood up for is carried to the next generation...
