Dear momofsarge, As a Blue Star Mother myself I wish to thank you for sharing this precious moment with us. The video hit " Home" for me and brought tears to my eyes. I've also experienced that 1st phone call home! My son is now on his 2nd deployment. And I look foward to his re-deployment in a few months. Again thanks for sharing & keep in touch!

Default Phone call I will never forget

Thanks, A#1Mom, for your message -- and for your son's service. I will keep him and his buddies in my prayers.

My son, a Purple Heart veteran, served two tours of duty in Iraq. Here is a short YouTube video that tells the story of his phone call home the day he deployed for the first time:YouTube - ‪A Soldier's Call‬‏

I know the feeling well, momofsarge. My wife & I went through it 5 times when my son was an Army Ranger. Four times to Iraq & once to Afghanistan.

God bless your son & keep him safe. Thank him for his service from my family.

mom, you are posting the link incorrect plus opening duplicate threads.

the format is http:// and then the link. look at your link; it shows http twice. also, keep it in one thread please.
