    Default other army forums

hey guys, i know there has been mention of the forum dwindling a little so i went to take a look at some of the others to see what makes them so succesfull.

i went to army.com's forum and it has a large amount of members and so its very active but i noticed that they it has just as many reposts as this forum and since i haven't spent a lot of time on there it also seemed ver cluttered and i think the only reason i found my way around ok was because the layout was pretty close to this one. the other forum i went to was futuresoldiercenter.com which i found by accident when i tried to go to the trainning center at futuresoldier.com, this site has a lot of post and activity but it seems like someone asks a question and everyone responds but there is no conversation going anywhere.

i was wondering if anyone felt the same. of the three army forums and the several others i'm a member of this is the easiest to use and most conversational and i think we only lack in the number of participants, any idea on how to gain a little noteriety to bring some life back into the forum?

with the domain name, you would think we would pop right up when looking for an army forum. when was this site created anyways, maybe that has the most to do with it.

Type in "Army Forum" in google and it's right on top.

All you need here are a few members with the gift of gab and it'll take off.

Also, NOT being negative helps in forum growth... one big plus would be NOT to bitch about things like similar or duplicate threads when a NEWB (noob) makes them. They're the ones that make a forum grow.

Let it go and it will eventually make a life of its own.

forums are dime a dozen. Its not like you have to walk down the road to the next one. Its all one stop shopping. Web browsers now have the capability to have multiple windows open lol.

I can say if you were the programmer that created this place or a moderator that gives you a little power to promote a website. What I notice is that the more people; the more tendency for trolls and internet fights. Its not the military so you have some lower rank or some individuals who love showing contempt just for the sake of it. If there were in the real world/military; their conduct will not be of the sort.

I go on Army.com as well and there is alot of expertise that resides there from vets and combat vets. The point is; if you cant find an answer here, you can always find it somewhere else or just call the recruiting station. Free for internet calls lol

    The man speaks the truth.

I've been on a lot of forums. Trolls and fights are part of the game. For myself, I don't engage.

Air Force Enlisted Forum is rife with trolling and sarcasm and rudeness, but it's also extremely active. It's give and take, when forums get big they begin getting really clique-ish and the folks who've been around the longest tend to gang up on the new people.
