My brother just dropped off some DVDs to me and when I ran outside to get them he had an extra surprise for me. Video of the parade!!@$~!@$~ He was 2' away from the street as close as you could get. Our buddy is an EMT from Jersey City and he told security he was on duty. They let them walk right up to the barrier where only EMS were allowed! The guy next to him had a freaking catch with Eli as he was going down the street on the float!!!!!!

So last Monday we're all in the motorpool getting ready to go to lunch when our Section Sergeant walks up to us. He says "Sorry guys, but you all are going back out the field for two weeks to do gate guard. And you're leaving in three hours". There is a little computer lab out here though and I've got some time now to respond to all of my fans haha.

Here at my post, soldiers do gate guard with the civilian security contractors and I think that it is great that soldiers are coming back to do that. Hey, what a notion, civilians guarding military?
