    Default The politics section

Just reading through your politics section and I was wondering why you have a politics section if no debate is allowed. It would be helpful for new members to know if non democrat (obama) views can be freely expressed here.......By the way it would stink of socialism that no views are allowed....socialism is a bit like communism really

Not sure what you mean, theres many Americans on here with pro Republican views aswell as Pro Democrat views, and a smaller amount of non US members too... focus is on Army and Military though as we are all pro Army... hope this addresses your question?..

Fair enough, just wondering where the boundaries are,.... as a few threads have been locked as they became awkward or maybe the mod thought they were disrespectful?.....I'm use to controversial / questioning debate. I don't mind in the least the US questioning the British stance on world affairs and vice versa.....it can sometimes be misconstrued though

This forum is designed to simply help individuals who are joining the Army or dealing with military issues. Sometimes a topic does spark debate but again this is not the forum's intent regardless of a community forum set aside for it. If you want hot debate with supposedly pseudo-intelligent individuals, then I suggest www.militarytimes.com/forums They are in constant debate on that website. They do have threads to assist members of each branch of the services but because topics are solely focused on battling and insulting one another; many refrain from there and head to others like these.

To elaborate on what the Chief was saying - we don't want to scare anyone who's interested in enlisting in the US Army away from the site because to an outsider it might appear to be unfriendly & full of strife. Controversy to a certain extent is tolerated but when it becomes vitriolic we have to draw the line. I think you can understand the thinking there.
