You'll want to get there for the 4 days they have nice weather in Ireland, right?

I sincerely hope that I'm finished with 10 hour flights. I doubt I'd hold up even in casual civilian clothes let alone parachute, mae west, TA 50, weapon & Lord knows what else the Army wants to hang on you while flying in a C 130!

Well I promissed the Mrs that I would take her to Ireland 6 years ago. Because of my medical situation I figured she would give me a "pass" on the trip however she jerks my chain every now and then. She feels she is missing out on a part of life because I was able to travel all over the world and she has been stuck in the good old USA.

I did tell her I would take her around the USA but no dice on that one.

I hear ya, Dibble! Gotta keep the wife happy.

As a suggestion - ask your doc if he can give you some sort of sleeping pill for the flight. They used to give us some, especially for the flight across the Atlantic. The Pacific is even worse. My son's Rangers would get them each time they deployed. Those guys would sometimes go on their first mission 2 hours after they landed & they'd be refreshed & ready to go. There are some pretty good ones that don't leave you with a hangover, nice & gentle & giving you a good 8 hours worth of restful sleep.

I thought about the sleeping pills, but as many meds as I am currently on (21) not sure how they would all blend together. I will probably just suck it up, thats what we do. I am sure my civilian doc may have a trick or two up his sleeve. I betcha airport security will inspect my cane with a fine tooth comb. Too bad soldiers and retired soldiers cannot fly armed, who better to try and defend an airplane? There are enough of us that fly that air marshals would not be needed.
