Default discomfort in hand, medics help!!!!

so this started a couple of months ago, i figured it was just a minor sprain with a little discomfort.

but recently it has been bothering me more and more.

i have insurance and am thinking of going to a chiropractor to get an xray just to be on the safe side.

but the story, when i do pushups i have a slight pain in my right hand, i think it is one of the hamates im guessing. my brother just broke his hand so i know a little terminology now lol.
but the only time it hurts is when i have my hand bent doing pushups. with my hand is flat it feels like something in my hand between my middle finger and wrist is out of place just a little, i can feel the same thing in my other hand but this one is more noticable.

the ONLY time it irritates me is while doing pushups. it doesnt hurt while doing anything else.

should i follow through with the doc or should i just ice it and rest if for a couple of days?
there is nothing out of the ordinary by looks, it is just a little discomforting while doing pushups.

any help would be greatly appreciated, i dont want to get to BCT and something just let loose and me be screwed. i want to make sure im ok before i ship, which is 20110308.

    thank you.

Your Chiropractor focuses on treating spinal subluxations, and is unlikely to be of help with your wrist. The hamate bone is one specific bone of the carpals which form the wrist joint. General guidelines for minor non-traumatic injuries are conservative management with ice, rest, and treatment with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Ketraprofen or similar.

BUT - you know your body better than anyone, and you are the only one qualified to judge when you should seek professional evaluation.

Chiropractors can indeed take x-rays, but those films will only show fractures and dislocations, nothing else.

Here are wrist sprain diagnosis and treatment guidelines in plain language -
    Wrist Sprain - Sprained Wrist

Although without acute trauma, yours is most likely a simple overuse injury. Either way, treatment is the same.

    Good luck!
